O'Connell Park was a hive of activity this morning as a large crowd turned out to take part in the walk to remember Fr. Brian.

While Fr Brian's family made the journey to Croagh Patrick, members of the local community gathered at the club grounds for a walk around our new walking track.
After the walk tea and coffee was served and everyone took the opportunity to sit down and have a chat, remembering Brian and talking about what's going on in the local area at the minute. Hot topics of conversation were our seniors win on Friday night, the new walking track & club activity and the upcoming Darkness in to light walk which will take place at the club next weekend.

There were collection buckets for donations to be added to the fundraising efforts of Fr. Brian's family, which is to raise funds for Chest Heart & Stroke and also a donation to The Tullysaran Walking track fund in Fr. Brian's memory.

We collected a fantastic £642 on the morning and this will be passed on to Fr. Brian's family on their return from Mayo.

Everyone who donated was entered in to a raffle, prize winners as below:

After a stressful week sorting Ulster Final tickets, it's little wonder our club secretary Noleen went straight for the booze!

Marie and Scarlet collecting their hamper.

Fergal collected a box of chocolates on behalf of his brother Frank.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the event and a special thank you to Catherine and Fiona for organising and to anyone who brought along biscuits, buns, cakes etc.
